Manuscript Preparation
Manuscript Editing for as Little as a Penny a Word
We offer full editing services ranging from basic proofreading to line editing, which addresses creative content and writing style. Generally, we find it ideal to begin a new project in a small section (5K - 10K words of your manuscript), for which we will take a $100 deposit. This will allow us to become professionally acquainted and to see if we are a good fit. Thereafter, we can choose to continue working on a pay-as-you-go basis, dividing the project into multiple segments. The cost for basic editing is approximately $.02 per word. If regular phone meetings are required, the price will be higher.
Indexing / Chapter Titles
If your book needs an index or clear and creative chapter titles, we can accomplish this during the editing process. For non-fiction books, we will build an index of the words or phrases you deem most important. Price for this service ranges from $45-90. If your book needs descriptive chapter titles, we will offer title suggestions for each chapter. Price for this service is $10 per chapter.
Book Design
Front Cover Design
We design engaging book covers that convey the spirit and meaning of your book. All front cover designs begin with a $125 deposit. This includes a subsequent phone call to discuss the designs, receive feedback and make any changes. Any subsequent drafts thereafter will require a deposit no greater than $100.
Back Cover Design
The back cover of your book is its most important marketing piece. We will work with you to tailor an informative and compelling back cover. Content for the back cover usually includes a picture and biography of the author, a description of the work and one to four reviews. All back cover designs begin with a $125 deposit. This includes a subsequent phone call to discuss the designs, receive feedback and make any changes. Any subsequent drafts thereafter will require a deposit no greater than $100.
Interior Design
For a dollar a page, we layout all chaptered pages. Once your manuscript is ready, we will layout the pages of your book according to industry standards.
eBook Design
We will format your finished manuscript as an ebook compatible with Kindle, the Barnes & Noble eReader, Nook, Google Play Books and Kobo Books.
Image Enhancement & Placement
We can insert black and white or color images into the pages of your book. We will first enhance the images so that they look great upon your pages. Be mindful that color images significantly increase the base price of your book.
Audio / Video
Audiobook Production
Recording, editing, processing and formatting.
Prices start at $100 for a short excerpt. A quote will be provided after the scope of your audio project has been fully delineated.
Promotional Interviews
Audio only, $50 per hour.
Video Editing
Video editing, $125 per hour.
Marketing
Your Personal Author Web Page
For approximately $100-200, you can have a personal author web page at the SoWISE web site. Additionally, if you wish to have an independent web site with your own domain name and hosting, constructing this web site averages $100-200 per page.
Amazon.com Author Page
Customized with your best author bio and bio pic. We can add multimedia, blog feeds, or events to your Amazon Author Page. Price $25-75.
Promotional Materials
We design and produce sell sheets, postcards, business cards, brochures, posters, and more. Starts at $100
Promotional Interviews
Audio only, $50 per hour.
Book Trailer Videos
Video editing, $125 per hour.
Printing & Distribution
Your Own ISBN
Although your book is published under the SoWISE imprint, you retain the copyright to your work. Like many publishers, Amazon will give you a free ISBN number when we submit your finished book, but you can opt to acquire your own ISBN number to protect your digital rights for $99.

Payment Schedule
We offer a pay-as-you-go payment schedule without a contract, which we will explain in detail during the complementary consultation. We will always conscientiously quote additional charges like Photoshop fees, special text formatting, or any other non-basic package special requests before performing that work. After the complementary consultation, you can begin your project with us for as little as $100 down.
